Jatra, which means 'the journey' in Bengali honours our ever evolving path.

We can't keep going with an empty cup.

Our brand was developed on the realisation that skincare and wellness is an essential act of self-love. If we look after ourselves, we can better serve others.

During our journey, we discovered the harmful and toxic ingredients in our everyday products, even products deemed as 'natural' were packed with synthetics. We went on a mission to change this. At Jatra, our products are designed to create moments of tranquillity, allowing you to reconnect with yourself through rituals adorned across the globe. By choosing natural, effective ingredients, you empower yourself to embrace your unique skin story and foster a positive cycle of self-empowerment.

Message from the Founder, Sadiah

Hello, beautiful humans!

I can’t thank you enough for your continuous support since launching Jatra last summer '24. The seed for this brand was planted in 2020, seeking natural ways to heal acne with botanical plant based ingredients. My struggle with acne began in my teens and resurfaced every decade since, leading me to Roaccutane in my mid-twenties—without realising its severe side effects. When my acne flared up again at 30, I knew I had to find a better path.

I revisited ancient Ayurvedic rituals and drew inspiration from my mother’s remedies alongside a love for travel learning about cultures around the world (a big reason to create travel-friendly products too).
My own journey reignited curiosity of my heritage that I hid away from and a passion for plant-based healing. I wanted to honour ancestral traditions passed through generations and adapt them for today's world. Our ingredients origins are from West Africa to South Asia and Scotland—from nourishing shea butters to the age-old use of Multani Mitti face masks.

What I’ve learned? Through natural, organic ingredients and a holistic lifestyle—coupled with therapy, lifestyle and diet—I discovered that healing begins from within. And also, listen to your Grandma’s recipes!
