Jatra means the journey in Bengali. A culture I ran and hid away from in order to blend in, now going back to. Before skincare was an industry, it was something passed down — turmeric ground by hand, oil warmed between palms, rituals that belonged to us long before they had a name.
Growing up, those rituals often got left behind — folded away in favour of fitting in. Jatra is about picking them back up. Not just Ayurveda, not just one corner of the story, but beauty ritual from across the whole subcontinent — Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan — everything in between.
Every product is handmade in small batches, right here in Edinburgh. No water. No fragrance. Just what our skin actually needs, made the way it was always meant to be made.
